Giants Locker Room will Be More Slient Says Prisco

CBS Sportsline’s Pete Prisco is on the bandwagon with stating that the Giants will have a better, quieter 2007 with Tiki Barber now safely behind the desk of a network and not shooting his mouth off in the Giants locker room. In his latest edition of “Prisco Points” he makes the point to look for the Giants to keep it low key this season in the locker room:

“So Giants coach Tom Coughlin wants his team to concentrate on football and talk less. Well, that should be a lot easier now. With Tiki Barber done auditioning for his network television role, there should be less talk. Barber was a locker room problem last year, and the Giants are glad he’s gone. I get the feeling this Giants team will be a lot better than people think it will. Why? Coughlin can coach. He may be a pain to deal with, and his rigid ways grade on players, but he gets results.”

Problem with Prisco’s points is that Coughlin is already on the hot seat, and a slow start to 2007 will not only have the players grumbling, but the front office as well. Can Tom afford to get off to a slow start and keep his job? That, along with the noise that comes out of the Giants locker room, will be two of the key questions early in the season.
