Jacobs hopes to return against Jets
Although Giants running back Brandon Jacobs returned to the practice field this week, he will not play against the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend. His replacement, Derrick Ward, returned to practice on Thursday but was unable to practice on Friday due to his sprained ankle remaining sore.

Burress Has Serious Ankle Sprain
An orthopedic specialist confirmed that Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress has a serious right ankle sprain. Burress originally suffered the setback in training camp and his ankle has continued to bother him throughout the young season. Despite the injury, Burress will likely play on Sunday night, when the Giants host the Eagles.

Giants wide out Plaxico Burress traveled to North Carolina Wednesday to have his right ankle looked at by a specialist. Burress originally sustained the injury in training camp and the ankle has continued to bother him throughout the season. Burress has hauled in 15 passes for 262 yards and five touchdowns this season.
