Giants news and notes

Some good news for Giants fans who witnessed the injury that quarterback Eli Manning suffered during the nationally televised game sunday between the Giants and the Dallas Cowboys.  Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger reports that Manning’s right shoulder injury does not appear to be serious in nature.  The source of this information, who requested anonymity due to team policy, was given this information by Manning himself.  The labrum, which was feared injured during the game is OK, but it is not certain if Manning will miss any game time.

Another injury of note – Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora who was also injured very early in the Giants-Cowboys game, has suffered an unspecified knee injury that will keep him out for about two months, according to a source who spoke with Umenyiora directly.  Because of this, the Giants will probably rely more heavily on DE Michael Strahan.  Strahan played from off the bench Sunday night, but do not be surprised if he starts next week.
