Banged Up Giants Start Getting Set for Redskins

MitchellThe New York Giants have a lot to do to get ready for Sunday’s showdown with the Washington Redskins, and the hot topics with the team right now seem to be the awful defense and the injuries that have hurt the team. As far as lineup changes for this weekend, coach Tom Coughlin declined to mention much, but there appears to be some direction that will take place vs the Redskins.

Linebacker Gerris Wilkinson may see playing time on the weakside for Kawika Mitchell. Wilkinson has bee cleared to practice on a bad knee, and Coughlin stated that is one guy that he would like to see give it a go. Defensive end Marquies Gunn is on the active roster, and he will take the place of injured DE Adrain Awasom. As for the offense, QB Eli Manning is good to go, and will play Sunday, and WR Palxico Burress was limited on Wednesday in practice with a sore ankle.

Also on the Giants’ preliminary injury report are CB Kevin Dockery (ankle), QB Jared Lorenzen (ankle), WR Steve Smith (shoulder) and WR David Tyree (wrist).
