Giants Win A Thriller Over Redskins 24-17

Plaxico Burress (17) runs on a 33-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter

The Giants scored 21 unanswered points and staged a late goal-line stand en route to a 24-17 victory over the Redskins at FedEx Field.  Ladell Betts attempted to barrel into the end-zone from the one-yard line with 25 seconds to play, but New York’s defense held strong and assured the G-Men their first victory of the season.  Burress had five catches for 86 yards and the score for New York, which will face the Eagles in the Meadowlands next Sunday night.  Eli Manning threw for 232 yards with a TD and two interceptions.  Jason Campbell tossed for 190 yards with a touchdown for Washington, which slipped to 2-and-1.  Clinton Portis rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown in defeat.
