2 placekickers auditioned
Posted by Stephen Rhodes on October 3rd, 2007 in News
With the recent performance of New York Giants placekicker Lawrence Tynes (he missed a 34-yard field goal and an extra point), the team auditioned two free agent kickers on Tuesday – Josh Huston and Billy Cundiff. This past summer, Huston lost a camp battle with Tynes for the Giants kicker job yet was considered the better of the two.
Cundiff spent 4 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and in the second half of last season performed the kickoff chores for the New Orleans Saints. This season, Tynes has made 7-of-9 FG’s; ironically, his 2 misses were from 34 yards.
