Giants Looking for Third Time Charm in Dallas Sunday
Posted by Matt Loede on January 12th, 2008 filed in NewsThe Giants will be hoping the third time is a charm when they meet the NFC East-rival Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Divisional Playoffs at Texas Stadium. The Giants are coming off a 24-14 road victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild card round last Sunday. Eli Manning was very efficient, completing 20-of-27 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns. Brandon Jacobs was the recipient of one of those TD tosses, and added another score on the ground in the second quarter that put the Giants up for good. The win marked New York’s first postseason victory in seven years. Including last week’s win, the G-Men are 8-and-1 on the road this season, with their only blemish a 45-35 opening night loss to the Cowboys. Dallas finished the regular season 13-and-3 to capture the NFC’s top-seed and earn a first-round bye. Tony Romo threw for 42-hundred yards to go along with 36 touchdowns and 19 picks. The ‘Boys beat the Giants in both regular season meetings. Sunday will mark the first time these two teams have met in the postseason.
