Carr to Sit Down with the G-Men This Week

He was at one time the #1 pick in the entire NFL Draft, and now he’s shopping his services around looking for work. He may find it in the Big Apple, as today’s Newark Star-Ledger is reporting that the Champion Giants will play host to former Texans and Panthers QB David Carr sometime this week. Carr was released after one awful season in Carolina that saw him take over for an injured Jake Delhomme, only to be hurt himself and eventually ride the bench late in the year.

The Giants have been on the lookout for a veteran QB to back up Eli Manning, and there is some connection with Carr and New York, as Giants QB coach Chris Palmer used to tutor Carr in Houston. In 82 career games, Carr has a QB rating of 74.4, with 14026 yards passing and 62 touchdowns and 70 interceptions. He is also been a rag doll, taking 262 sacks (43.6 per year) in his six-year career. He has been known for terrible decisions, which makes the signing a risk for the Giants who need to have someone they can count on behind Manning in case of injury.

The Giants I think can use him.He will be reunited with his former QB coach which I think can help him like he has helped Eli.Hopefully Eli will not get hurt but if so Carr can play well I think. He has a good O-line in New York and a host of weapons(Burress,Toomer, hopefullyShockey,Smith,a good runnin game) all these will make it easy for him.
