Today the Giants signed sixth-round DL Robert Henderson to a multi-year deal. Henderson started 33 games at Southern Miss and finished his career with 13.5 sacks. He’ll likely need to show versatility to make the 53-man roster.

Here is a breakdown on Henderson from CNN/SI:

BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter who also saw extensive action with the first team as a sophomore. Totals last season included 64/10.5/4 after 36/12/4.5 the previous year.

POSITIVES: Undersized college pass-rusher who makes a lot of plays up the field. Quick off the snap with a nice first step. Plays with good leverage and pad level. Fast off the edge, fluid changing direction, and rarely off his feet. Shows the ability to flatten and pursue from the back side. Stays with the action and works hard to make plays.

NEGATIVES: Easily blocked from the action and handled by tight ends. Marginally instinctive and slow finding the ball.

ANALYSIS: Henderson is an explosive first-move lineman who makes plays on the ball when he has a clear path to the action. He possesses marginal size, but he could be an inside pass-rusher in the right system.
