Tiki’s “Honesty”

Barber

Appearing on SNY’s Sports Nite, Michael Strahan was asked if he’d be afraid to comment honestly on the Giants now that he’s on Fox, especially since Tiki Barber has become despised in New York for allegedly doing just that on NBC. As if it was Tiki’s “honesty” that bothered Giant’s fans. It wasn’t. If he’d commented negatively — but objectively — on Eli’s leadership skills or lack there of, that would have been fine. But, instead — with a condescending snicker — his dismissed Eli’s leadership attempts as “laughable.” That may be “honesty” to Tiki but it’s just downright malicious and demeaning to most Giant’s fans. Okay, so Eli isn’t a charismatic, swaggering, blood-and-guts, grab-a-guy-by-the-jersey-guy. So what! He’s a Super Bowl MVP. That’s what rankled Giant’s fans. Not Tiki’s “honesty.”
