Will Shockey Play for the Giants in 2008?

Shockey

Coming back from a broken fibula can be a difficult situation when a good portion of your job is how well your legs work. Coming back from a broken relationship with your boss can be an uphill battle that can’t be won. This is the situation for Jeremy Shockey, the sometimes exuberant, boastful TE. After shouting matches with GM Jerry Reese, sitting out during OTA’s its hard to see why the Giants would try to bring him back.

Shockey has made it apparent that he wants out of New York and is doing his best to make that a reality. It wouldn’t be good business for the Giants to issue Shockeys release and with every outburst and disruption Shockey has created; it has become more difficult to trade him to another team. The three team trade that would have sent Shockey to the Saints and Jason Taylor to the Giants is no longer available with Taylor being traded to the Redskins. With Shockey still being a top 15 TE the possibilities of a trade are always in view, however, with Shockey’s hefty price tag and clubhouse distractions are going to make it more difficult to get a deal done, even if both sides would like to see one happen.
