Burress, Giants Near Settlement
Posted by Matt Loede on September 27th, 2008 in News
The settlement between the Giants and WR Plaxico Burress appears to be close to getting done. Reports say that Burress’ fine will be half of the $235,294 a two-week ban would have cost him, the report said. He will accept the one-game suspension that will see him sit out next Sunday’s game vs the Seahawks at home. The Giants will not go after any bonus money Burress could owe the team through a forfeiture clause in the $35 million contract extension he signed earlier this month, according to the report. Burress skipped out on a couple of team meetings and didn’t report to the team what was going on and was suspended by the team Wednesday.

It is possibly being money issue with Burress is to why he wasn’t in the team meetings. He has proven that he is a great player. It hasn’t been clear about his ankle status. I think giants need to give him some rests so he can be ready for the big games.
