Giants WR Plaxico Burress has had a pain in his neck all week, and now that pain has spread to his wallet. Burress was fined by the NFL today a whopping $45,000 for verbally abusing an official and tossing a ball into the stands during last weekend’s game against the 49′ers. He was fined $20,00 for comments to head linesman Phil McKinnely, and then $20,000 more after the game for comments against the refs.
The final $5,000 was for tossing the ball into the stands after he caught at TD in the third quarter of the win. At least his neck is feeling better and he should be ready to go Sunday against the Steelers in Pittsburgh. “I had a full day of practice, no limitations, so I am ready to go,” Burress said. “I have 48 hours to get ready for the game and I should be back to close to 100 percent.”
