Giants-Cowboys 1st Half Thoughts

7-3 after the half, in favor of the ‘Boys. Let’s break it down.

Giants defense looks strong, save for the Romo touchdown pass, which was, let’s face it, one of those ‘all-breaks-loose-somehow-they-score’ plays. Barber has 3 rushes for -6 yards, although they can’t seem to stop the Tashard Choice screen play. They’re keeping T.O. and Witten in check, as well. The Dallas line cannot stop the pass rush at all.

Giants offense looks like it did a week ago against the Eagles. Eli is making some good throws, and Steve Smith has some nice catches, but without Plax, it seems like they don’t have that big play threat. Take the 3rd down play before the field goal. Usually they do the fade route. This time they tried going to Kevin Boss, resulting for an incompletion. Perhaps they need to put in Sinorice Moss or Mario Manningham, both speed burners, to stretch the defense, and keep an over the top threat on the field, to get the running game going, that is struggling without Jacobs.

As always, Jeff Feagles keeps making amazing punts, and John Carney is doing better on kickoffs. They miss Domenik Hixon on kick returns.

With the Giants down 7-3, the game isn’t out of hand just yet. If the Giants can get a quick score to start the half (preferably a touchdown) their defense can take over and lock it down. We will see what happens. Enjoy the second half.
