PFW: Giants Depth May Not Apply to O-Line

From: Pro Football Weekly

It became a sore spot early in the Giants’ Week 15 loss to the Cowboys when OLG Rich Seubert came down with an illness and ORT Kareem McKenzie injured his back. The Giants, considered among the deeper teams in the NFL, had bodies to take those places, but the replacements didn’t appear up to snuff. Kevin Boothe filled in for McKenzie and was beaten for a sack. He wasn’t awful otherwise, but Boothe clearly lacks McKenzie’s hand strength, experience and solid base; it showed in the run game. Grey Ruegamer, Seubert’s replacement, is probably best-suited at this point to play center. He’s a little light in the pants, doesn’t anchor or pull all that well and can’t take on the more quick three-techniques without help very well. The Giants’ line was exposed against the Cowboys for eight sacks and was not strong blocking up run plays either, though it hurt that RB Brandon Jacobs was inactive for the game.
