Giants-Vikings 1st Half Thoughts

In a game that means absolutely nothing, the Giants are still in it, down 10-9 at the half. Granted, the score means nothing in this game. This game is all about one thing: momentum heading into the bye week. And so far, so good. Eli has played well, managing the game, doing the things he needs to do to win. Ward has been good, but we all know how much better the running game is with Jacobs in.  Except for the 67 yard run by Adrian Peterson, the Giants defense has been stout, even without Cofield and Ross.  I think everyone expects the Giants to rest their players in the second half, but, if I’m the coach, I’m happy with their first half performance.  The only thing I’m worried about is Michael Matthews, who got hurt. He’s a good second tight end, and a terrific blocker. The extent of the injury is not known. No one cares about the score. Momentum is key. And the Giants have done a good job of that so far. Enjoy the second half.
