Giants Coordinators Coaching News

From NY Daily News:

Add the Denver Broncos to Steve Spagnuolo’s list of suitors.

The Broncos, who recently fired Mike Shanahan, will meet with the Giants’ defensive coordinator on Saturday, the same day he’s scheduled to meet with officials from the Jets. According to a report, the meeting will not be a formal interview, just an informal dinner. Apparently Spagnuolo didn’t feel he had time for two long interviews on Saturday.

He did, however, have time for two formal interviews today when, as I told you earlier, he was scheduled to meet with officials from the Lions and Browns.

Meanwhile, remember those stories about the Oakland Raiders requesting permission to interview Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride? Apparently they were false. Or maybe the Raiders changed their mind. Who can tell with the Raiders anymore?

Whatever the truth, Raiders senior executive John Herrera dismissed those reports, among others, yesterday. And from what I’ve heard, the Raiders never did call the Giants about Gilbride. Since they’re pretty much out of time in this one-week window to talk to assistants from playoff teams with a bye week, it’s a safe bet the Raiders won’t be calling in the next couple of days, either.
