Giants wide receiver Steve Smith is battling Achilles’ tendinitis, but the valuable third wideout expects to be able to practice next week. Head coach Tom Coughlin said he’s encouraged about his ailing player’s availability next week, though he said, “Rather than say something that comes back to haunt me, we will just have to wait and see.”
