Giants Free Agency Preview

12 AM. That’s the start of the NFL free agency period. While there are some big names to be had, the Giants won’t be going after them. Instead, look for smaller signings- the type the Giants love. Here’s a breakdown of what we think they should do when the clock strikes 12.

WIDE RECIEVER:
I’m operating as if Plax won’t be here. As much as I would love TJ Houshmandzadeh, I doubt Jerry Reese will lay out the big bucks. Instead? Look for them to try and sign Nate Washington, or Lavernaeus Coles.

OUTSIDE LINEBACKER
This might be addressed through the draft, with a guy like Brian Cushing or Clay Matthews, both of USC. However, most media outlets link Michael Boley with the Giants. I would love to see Derrick Brooks, or Cato June in blue.

SAFETY:

With James Butler’s return in question, look for the GMen to try and grab Darren Sharper to help mentor a young secondary.

Not much is needed, and Reese is more likely to build through the draft. Also, don’t expect Derrick Warr back. His price will be too much.
