Giants 2009 Three Key Moments of the Schedule from NFL.com

A new era started prior to last season when the Giants traded Jeremy Shockey. The outspoken tight end was injured during the team’s run to Super Bowl XLII and the club dealt him to New Orleans after the season. The Giants will play against him for the first time on Oct. 18 in the Superdome.

Heading into Week 14 of last year, the Giants were dominant, sporting an 11-1 record. That’s when they lost to the Eagles, starting a 1-3 stretch to close the regular season. Philadelphia then knocked them out of the playoffs. New York gets its first chance for payback in Week 8.

Last season’s Week 16 battle between Carolina and New York at Giants Stadium decided the top seed in the NFC. The Giants ended up winning a thriller in overtime. The two teams meet again in Week 16 at Giants Stadium this year. Will it match the 2008 contest?
