Pick Nicks:

With the 29th pick of the 2009 NFL Draft the New York Giants select Hakeem Nicks, wide receiver,  from North Carolina.

This was the popular pick from many mock drafts around the NFL community prior to the draft.  Nicks is probably the most NFL ready receiver in the draft in my opinion and will look to replace Plaxico Burress as the number one receiver for the Giants.

Here is the Scout.com report on Nicks:

Nicks is a consistent pass catcher who has reliable hands. He lacks elite speed, but is quick and makes plays downfield. He gets a fluid release off the line, is physical through routes and has the ability to make a difficult reception. He offers the quarterback a nice target and comes back to the ball consistently. He’s a tough runner after the catch and doesn’t go down easily.
Nicks is a physical receiver who runs well after the catch.  He is the logical rookie replacement for Plaxico Burress.
It looks like the trade talks with the Browns have died but we will see after the second round.
More to come…….
