RB Danny Ware Shares His Thoughts on the Draft

Super Bowl Football
I think the Giants did pretty well in the draft, they brought in some pretty good guys who are going to push us and make us work even harder around here.

It’s good and it’s bad, because it makes you work harder, but also, some guys are going to have to go and that’s just the way it is.

We used a 4th round pick to take a running back. Naturally, guys are going to worry about their jobs and some guys will be on edge. It doesn’t put a scare into me because I know I go out there and work hard every day. It’s going to be a while before he can get carries, he has to learn the offense and it will take him a little while. But I heard he’s pretty good.

Listen, this is a business, but I’ll help the guy out because we’re here to win and we’re a team. But I’m also competing with him. I feel like I can replace Derrick Ward all day every day, they don’t have to bring in someone else to get those carries. So it’s kind of hard knowing that they used a fourth round pick on a back and they’re probably going to have to give him some playing time.

I wasn’t drafted out of Georgia, and that kind of put me in a tailspin at the time. But I figured that if I just got on a team and got the chance I could prove that I belonged. Now I’m just trying to take that next step and show I deserve to get carries.

  1. Todd says:

You played well when you got the chance last year. I read you lost some weight and are even faster and quicker then last year. We all know in this league that players get hurt. Jacobs has been hurt the last couple of years so it’s probable that he’ll get banged up this year opening up playing time for you and Bradshaw. I’m looking forward to seeing you on the field and contributing to season. Good Luck!
