Ex Giants Receivers:

From ProFootballTalk.com:

Veteran receiver Tim Carter, who spent a full season out of football after being cut by the Texans during the 2008 preseason, has resurfaced.

According to Billy Coats of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Carter has agreed to terms with the Rams.

He was invited to the team’s recent minicamp on a tryout basis.  It has resulted in a one-year deal, presumably for the six-year veteran minimum of $620,000.

In all, Carter spent five seasons with the Giants and one with the Browns.  He has appeared in 69 career games, with eleven starts.  He has 80 career receptions for 1,084 yards and four touchdowns.

Though on the surface it might be assumed that new Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo was drawn to Carter based on their time together in New York, Carter left the same year that Spagnuolo arrived.

And, as it turned out, Carter pulled a Mattingly, leaving the Giants just before they won a Super Bowl title.

And on a sour note

From Mike Garafolo:

Ex Giant Anthony Mix indicted on sex charge.

A Baldwin County grand jury has indicted Tampa Bay receiver Anthony Mix on a misdemeanor sex charge.

Bay Minette police Sgt. Lester Banfield said Tuesday the former Auburn player is charged with a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The indictment alleges that Mix had sex with a 15-year-old girl in January in his hometown of Bay Minette.

Banfield said because the charge is a misdemeanor, investigators will likely have to wait until Mix turns himself in or pick him up when he is in town.

It’s unclear if Mix has retained an attorney. He played for Auburn from 2002-2006 and has seen limited action with the Washington Redskins and New York Giants.
