How Big Are Hakeem Nicks Hands?

I’m fascinated by everything Hakeem Nicks. Sorry to you all if you’re not.

We’ve all seen the story of how Hakeem Nicks wears 4XL gloves, but I wanted to put into perspective how big his hands are (which is a big reason for all catching ability, I imagine).

I’ve seen that Hakeem Nicks’ hands measured at 10.5 inches.

Here are some other hand measurements.

Jason Smith OT 6’5  Hands measure at 9.75 inches.

Andre Smith OT 6’4” hands measure at 9.75 inches

Michael Oher 6’5 10 and 3/8 inches hand measruements

Phil Loadholt 6’8” hand span of 10 inches

Only Eugene Monroe of the OT selected in the first two rounds has bigger hands than Hakeem Nicks. Monroe’s hands are 11 1/8 inches.

Hakeem Nick’s hands are HUGE. He has hands bigger than the average 6’5 guy.  That has to be a reason why he catches everything so well.

Some WR comparisons:

Kenny Britt 9 inches

Michael Crabtree 9.25 inches

Darrius Heywar Bey 9 inches

Jeremey Maclin 9.25 inches

Brandon Tate 9.25 inches

Ramses Barden 10.75 inches if big hands=good catching abilitly the Giants are set there

I’m not sure what all this means, but I just find it interesting.

The more and more I read about Hakeem Nicks the more I like him (and Barden).  All the transcripts I read are B-O-R-I-N-G, which is a good thing. It’s the Tom Coughlin mantra of interviewing. “I have to keep working hard. Can’t do it without my team. Always more to improve on. competition is great….blah blah blah blah blah blah”

But that’s a good thing.  There have been no hints of me, me, me, me, me from Nicks or Barden.
Especially Barden he interviews fantastically.

One thing Barden continues to harp on is that he wants to be a complete WR, not just a red zone threat, but all around WR (and he often makes sure to include blocking in that).

I’m excited for the season to start, let’s hope the Giants found at least one gem from these two Wide Receivers.

Have a nice day, everyone.
