Robbins Off PUP:

Six months after microfracture surgery on his knee, Giants DT Fred Robbins is back at practice.

The 32-year-old Robbins returned to the field today and did individual drills for the first time since the surgery in February. Before he did, the Giants removed him from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list that he’s been on since the start of camp.

And the news is even better, because Tom Coughlin said the Robbins could be back in team drills as early as tomorrow.

“A very small number of snaps,” Coughlin said. “Anything would be good.”

It would be stunning, actually, since microfracture surgery often sidelines athletes for a year or more. But the 6-4, 317-pounder told the Daily News last week that “I’m pretty much a fast healer.”
