Giants vs Patriots Game Preview

The 1-2 Giants head to Foxboro to take on the 2-1 Patriots in the preseason finale. Traditionally, the final preseason game is the one where the starters play the least, and that’s the case here. Expect a series or two for the first team offense and defense. You don’t want to have any injuries. Backups will get a lot of time in this game.

INJURIES:

CB Aaron Ross (hamstring), WR David Tyree (hamstring), DT Chris Canty (hamstring), LB Michael Boley (hip, LT David Diehl (knee), S Kenny Phillips (knee), RB Danny Ware (chest), OL Guy Whimper (hip), and DT Jay Alford (knee)

OFFENSE:

If you miss the first couple of minutes of the game while eating dinner, you might miss the first team offense. Expect a lot of Andre Woodson and Rhett Bomar. Expect a lot of Allen Patrick. Expect a lot of Shaun Bodiford. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of Sinorice Moss- he’s on the bubble, and coaches might want to see what he can do, give him one last chance. Too bad David Tyree will be out–this would’ve been his last chance to make the team. You might also see some jump balls in the red zone to Ramses Barden.

DEFENSE:

Like the offense, not much going on here. One, maybe two series and they are out. We will see a lot of backups, though. Guys like Bruce Johnson, DeAndre Wright, Sha’Reff Rashad, Vince Anderson. Guys like Jonathan Goff. Guys like Gerris Wilkinson. I expect Wilkinson, Anderson and Wright to not make the team out of this group. We might see a lot of Maurice Evans, as well.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

With Danny Ware out, we’ll see Shaun Bodiford and Sinorice Moss as the punt/kick returners. Tynes and Feagles will play their normal amount.

PREDICTION:

There is really no use in predicting this game. Barely any starters will play. I’m 1-2 on my prediction so far. Granted, I’ve picked the Giants to win all three games. So, since I’m on a bit of a losing streak here, I’ll change it up. Final Score:  Patriots 21, Giants 14

Sigh… I’d take a ton of QBs before Rofflesburger… he just gets praise because of the championships… he’s just someone who doesn’t mess up the championship caliber team.
