So my question is this, will Ahmad Bradshaw and Allen Patrick be spearheading the running attack tonight since the starters (Brandon Jacobs) should only get in a series or two and Danny Ware will be sitting out?  I hope so — not so much for Patrick’s sake, but for Bradshaw’s… the guy is simply electric.

Eli should come out in a no-huddle again as well, try to get the offense in a groove for 2 straight scoring drives and sit down for the rest of the game on a high note, all criticisms silenced in terms of Eli’s preparedness. I know it’s a tall order, but I’d like to see a deep bomb accounting for the first score, and the second coming off a trademark scamper from Bradshaw.

But overall on offense, resting the starters will mean more reps for Nicks, Barden, Hagen, Manningham — we’ll see if Moss get in on the action this time around. And more action from the Tight Ends would be nice, event if its simply possession football.

Defensively – the line has something to prove this game, and even though the starters will come out after a few series. Putting adequate pressure on the QB while retaining coverage has been a struggle thus far in preseason, so with the addition of Antonio Pierce this week it will be interesting to see whether he can corral his first team into a cohesive unit right out of the gate. I can’t think of a better way to quell uncertainty with a couple of 3-and-outs to set the tone.

Lawrence Tynes. As the lone kicker — above anyone else — shouldn’t he rest this game given his range issues and sore groin? Why can’t we have Sinorice kick the extra points and field goals a la Chad Ochocinco. You never know — the kid might have something there! Dare to dream…

Catch you later tonight!
