Osi in Trouble with Law?

From NY Daily News:

Osi Umenyiora and the Giants made peace after the defensive end walked out on practice Monday- but the still has to answer to the law.

Umenyiora missed a court date for a speeding ticket the same day he stormed out of the Giants’ practice facility after a dispute with defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan, police confirmed Thursday

He will face an arrest warrant if he misses the next scheduled appearance on Sept. 9, said Lt. Michael Coppola of the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police.

Umenyiora, 27, was ticketed for Aug. 26 for revving his 2006 Bentley to 104 miles an hour in a 50-mph zone on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Alpine, N.J., Coppola said.

The fine for such an infraction would likely be around $200, a police source said.

Umenyiora returned to Giants camp late on Monday to apologize to Sheridan and head coach Tom Coughlin.

While Umenyiora called skipping practice “stupid,” there was no word from him and a Giants spokesperson said the team was unaware of the courthouse no-show.

People get speeding tickets, so that’s not my concern. What is my concern is this new trend of bad decisions by Osi. He was someone that was never in trouble before. Now, he leaves practice, and missed a court date. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Giants take disciplinary action, like not starting him in the first half against the Redskins.
