Dockery Out Vs. Redskins

A hamstring injury has reared its ugly head yet again in the New York Giants secondary as cornerback Kevin Dockery will miss Week 1 against the Washington Redskins due to the aforementioned injury. Second-year CB Terrell Thomas will replace him in the meantime.

The late injury has elevated undrafted rookie Bruce Johnson into the Giants’ game plan; being mindful of the sudden development, Johnson has been hanging around veteran CB Corey Webster and safety Kenny Phillips, watching game film.

Should the nickel and even the Cover-2 schemes be utilized, expect some action by Johnson. But with the Redskins’ Jason Campbell behind center, there’s no guarantee that will happen as I sense that they will run-first, then pass out of necessity.
