422

Anyone know what 422 means for the Giants so far this season.

I’ll give you a hint

422. Combined receving yards for Steve Smith and Mario Manningham.

214 is Steve Smith’s number tied for 1st in the league with Santonio Holmes.

208 is Mario Manningham’s receiving yards good for third in the league.

I know that we’re heading into the Week 3, and those numbers mean nothing, but people out there were acting like the Giants wouldn’t have 422 yards receiving all season.

Two other notes about that, this is the first time in 13 games the Giants have had a 100 yard receiver (yes, some of those games included Plaxico).

This is the first time in Giants HISTORY two players had 10 catches in one game.

Your Thoughts?

  1. Great point. Now add in a healthy Nicks and Hixon and you are going to see why mainstream analysts don’t know squat about the Giants and why #1 receivers are overrated.

Vision for potential is obviously something the Giants pride themselves in, and they have done a great job this season of evaluating where they were and how things could be improved. The chemistry is there, the numbers are there, and it shows you how underrated the Giants were coming into this season. Steve Smith has been around, so has Hixon — time to wake up and realize the Giants have talent coming out of their cleat marks.
