Eli Says He’s Okay

When Eli Manning came down awkwardly on his heel, Giants fans across the world collectively held their breath. But, according to Eli, things aren’t as bad as they seem:

“It’s a bruised heel, but I don’t know exactly what it is,” Manning said after the game. “We’ll find out more tomorrow. Obviously I can walk around, I can move around. But there is some discomfort.”

“”I always assume I’m going to play, that I’m going to ne out there,” he said. “I’ve always been a pretty quick healer. I’ll be doing everything I can possibly do this week to get healthy and be prepared to play Oakland.”

“We’ll have to see tomorrow. I think it’s just a bruised heel. I can walk around and move around, but there is some discomfort… It was non-contact, it just happened at the end of the drop. I don’t think it’s awful; I’ve been injured worse before. We’ll see how it feels throughout the week…Anytime you feel a little strain or pull down there you get a little nervous, because you don’t know what it is, like an Achilles or something, but after a second I knew it wasn’t that. I could stand up, I could still walk around. I could put some pressure on it, so I was more relieved after that.”

I’m trusting Eli, and when he got hurt against Dallas a couple years back and everyone said he was going to miss a month or more, Eli was back the next game. He also won the Super Bowl that year. Go figure. Get well, Eli. We need you.

If Eli ever goes down you can kiss the season goodbye. hopefully hes alright for sunday you want to win the easy game so the hard ones arnt as important if you lose

I agree, losing Manning for any length of time would be awful.

And it’s amazing — where are all the critics clamoring about have David Carr is better than Eli and it would be such a blessing to see Carr in action over Manning? You can hear a pin drop when David Carr gets in the game, it’s a joke.

Eli has tip top numbers this year to prove he’s elite to those who can’t say anything without numbers… David Carr, great to have you back there in reserve and I hope you can step it up if asked seriously in a meaningful situation… but as of right now, Eli is heads and tails above most other QB’s in the league, he’s a great QB and a great leader, period.
