Giants Beat Chiefs 27-16

The Giants continue to dominate opponents, as the Giants beat the Chiefs 27-16 . Steve Smith was on fire, with 11 catches for 134 yards and 2 TDs. Eli was pretty sharp going 20-34 for 292 yards, 3 TDs, and an interception, and the defense was dominant, only allowing yards. This was another dominating performance on both sides of the ball.

The Giants started off the scoring right away, as they recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff. A few plays later, Steve Smith scored on a 3 yard touchdown pass. The Chiefs answered quickly on a 34 yard field goal.

The Giants started off the second half with a 25 yard pass to Steve Smith.Lawrence Tynes added a field goal at the end of the half, to give the Giants a 17-3 lead heading into the half.

Tynes added another field goal in the 3rd quarter. Hakeem Nicks scored his first NFL touchdown on a 54 yard pass. The Chiefs added a score midway through the 4th, on a 1 yard pass to Sean Ryan. Their two point conversion attempt was not good. Bobby Wade scored on a 2 yard pass late in the 4th.

The Giants offense was pretty impressive, with 445 yards. The running game combined for 153  yards. Another great day by the Giants on offense.

The Giants  defense wasn’t as good as they were in Tampa Bay (how could they be), but the Chiefs had nowhere to go for pretty much the whole. Another dominating performance. There was, however, a bit of a let down in the 4th quarter, as they let the Chiefs score twice. That’s probably due to the fact that they had a big lead. They can get away with that against a lesser team, but against the upper echelon of the NFL, they’ll have to shore that up.

In injury news, Eli Manning looked to bruise his heel. No word on how serious, although he was shown laughing on the sidelines. David Carr did come in to replace him.

There’s not much else to say about this game. The Giants were pretty dominant on both sides of the ball, and if not for a few early turnovers, it would’ve been even a bigger lead. The Giants 4-0 start is very impressive, but they’ve done it against 3 pretty bad teams. After next week against Oakland, the Giants will face the Saints. That will be a true test. But for now, Giant fans can enjoy 4-0.
