Giants Chiefs Game Preview

The 3-0 Giants travel to KC to take on the 0-3 Kansas City Chiefs. The Giants are coming off a dominating performance last week against the Bucs, and will look to duplicate it on Sunday.

GIANTS: DT Chris Canty (calf), RB Danny Ware (elbow), LB Clint Sintim (groin), WR Domenik Hixon (knee), and CB Aaron Ross (hamstring), are out.

OL Adam Koets (ankle), WR Hakeem Nicks (foot), RB Ahmad Bradshaw (ankle), DE Justin Tuck (shoulder), OG Rich Seubert (shoulder), OT Kareem McKenzie (knee), and CB Kevin Dockery (hamstring) are probable.

Of course, Kenny Phillips is on IR.

KANSAS CITY: WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) is questionable. LB Derrick Johnson (groin) is probable.

The Giants didn’t have to do too much to beat the Bucs on offense last week, but they did more than enough. Eli Manning is playing like an MVP candidate. Steve Smith and Mario Manningham are on fire. The running game picked up last week. I expect a big offensive game from the Boys in Blue. Also, Hakeem Nicks is expected to return from injury. He could add another dimension to the passing attack. I am curious, however, to see how the banged up offensive line plays. Although Seubert and McKenzie are scheduled to play, no one can be sure how they will react playing hurt. Something to keep your eye on.

What can you say about last week’s performance? Incredible. Dominating. Only 86 yards allowed. The Giants might not be able to duplicate that, but against the Chiefs, they could. The main threat for the Chiefs is Dwayne Bowe, who is questionable, and if he does play, he will be covered by Corey Webster, who has been dominant all year. This could be a long day for the Chiefs offense. Look for heavy blitzing.

The Chiefs feature a great stadium, a loud crowd, and, well that’s about it. The Chiefs are not a good team. They have a shaky offensive line. They don’t really have any receiving threats outside of Bowe. Larry Johnson is not what he used to be. Matt Cassel isn’t in New England anymore. For the Chiefs to win, they have to hope the Giants overlook them, and that the crowd noise is too much for the G-Men to handle.

This is a classic trap game for the Giants. The Chiefs are desperate for a win. The Giants want to end their road trip. However, the Giants are much too talented for that to happen, and let’s face it, Tom Coughlin won’t let it happen. I expect a dominating defensive performance, as well as a very good offensive performance. This should be a “sit back, relax, and enjoy the show” type game. FINAL SCORE: Giants 35, Chiefs 7
