Source: Eli Can Play With Injury
A medical source told GiantsGab today that Eli can play with his plantar fasciitis injury–provided he can take the pain. The source, who has not treated Manning, described the fasciitis muscle as, “The bow in a bow and arrow. It extends from the heel onward, and acts as a thin layer protecting the foot.” If Eli can tolerate the pain, he can play. If not, he won’t. Simple as that. The source said that if this were a running back, who has to cut and plant, it would be much harder to play with. It’s likely that Manning will have his foot taped heavily, so it doesn’t move around a lot.
