Chris Canty’s on the Giants?

Don’t look now but the New York Giants are starting to get healthy.

42 million dollar Defensive Tackle Chris Canty has finally been cleared to at least practice in individual drills.

Chris Canty recently told reportes that “he’s so close to returning it’d scare you”.

Canty has only been able to play in the early part of the season after suffering nagging injuries in his legs throughout the season.

Canty who is a big 3-4 DE transitioning to a 4-3 scheme was supposed to be one of the Giants primary run stoppers, but he’s been hurt much fo the season.

Canty who never missed a game with the Cowboys is excited to get back, and Giants fans are excited to have him back.

This year was supposed to be filled with a bounty of depth along the defensive lines.

But injuries to budding young defensive tackle (who was getting a large portion of first team snaps throughout traning camp) was lost for the season, and then the 42 million dollar man Chris Canty has missed so much of the season.

On top of that Fred Robbins and Barry Coefield both coming off major surgeries have been overworked becuase of the injuries.

Despite that the Giants have done the smart thing but keeping Canty, Boley, and Ross out for extended periods this season. Canty signed a six year deal, Boley has a four year deal, and Aaron Ross is a very young players.

Despite having Superbowl aspirations the Giants are able to look long term.

And we as fans can’t fault Canty. They say in football that it’s not a question of IF you will get hurt but WHEN and for HOW LONG.

Canty’s return is looming and we couldn’t be more excited.

Also on the practice field was Michael Boley.

Expect Canty and Boley back no later than week 11th (Bye Week is week 10) when the Giants should be as healthy as they’re going to get for the season as they face an uphill trek to make the playoffs with games with Atlanta, at Denver,  with the Cowboys,  with the Eagles, at Washington, with Carolina, and at  Minnesota.
