Strahan Stops By For A Pep Talk:
From Newsday.Com
Michael Strahan, captain of the Super Bowl XLII team, visited the Giants at practice Friday for the first time since his retirement. As the team huddled after practice, Tom Coughlin gave Strahan a chance to speak, something he wasn’t expecting.
“It was a surprise,” said the Giants’ all-time leader in games played (216) and sacks (1411/2). “Coughlin pulled me to the middle of the circle and he stepped back. I’m thinking, ‘What are you stepping back for? You want me to speak?’ ”
Never one to turn down a chance to chat, Strahan’s message was one of confidence.
“They’re as talented as any team in the league,” he said. “It’s just a matter of believing in their talent and the talent of the guy next to them. If they do that, they’ll be just fine.”
