Giants Falcons Halftime Thoughts

For the second game in a row, the Giants pass offense is explosive, as they are winning 17-7 at half. The Giants have to keep up the passing game–it’s working.

When Michael Turner got hurt, I think we all breathed a sigh of relief. What we didn’t realize was the impact of the loss of Antonio Pierce. Does he make adjustments that Chase Blackburn isn’t making? On the Snelling touchdown run, the Giants defense looked absolutely lost. You have to wonder if Pierce makes an adjustment to stop that. On the positive side, Falcons have not done much in the air. The return of Aaron Ross has helped.

The Giants can move the ball. Pass offense is really working well, especially in the short to medium range. The Giants have to stay with it. Manning is looking really good. Manningham, Nicks, they are getting open. Keep doing what is working. They have settled for field goals on some occasions, but they can really move the ball.

For the Giants to win, they have to make an adjustment to stop the Falcons run game. I think you might see Johnathan Goff, who is much more athletic than Blackburn. The Giants also have to keep with the pass offense. Keep working the middle part of the field. It’s working. One of our keys of the game was sticking with what works. Stick with the pass offense, Giants. It’ll pay off.
