Sheridan doesn't think about whether he's doing a good job or not. Read the resent interview in the NY Post. He doesn't think that way. Good job, bad job, not in his mindset. He choreographs his players, coaches them when they're not in position, and then watches the play unfold before him on game day. He does however think about whether his players are doing a good job, because he also judged that they've not been physical enough. We all got a glimpse of this early on, when Osi had enough and walked out of camp. Where there's smoke, there's fire. Osi is fed up, and it's obvious he and his teammates have not bought into Sheridan's approach to coordinating a defense. They'd take Spags back in a heartbeat. This team isn't going to turn this around this season. What we've witnessed against the Broncos, Eagles, Saints, Chargers, Cowboys... it's not going to change this Sunday just because the Giants are at home. The defense is not going to be physical, they're going to give up running and passing yards in huge hunks, and they're going to place enormous pressure on Eli to air it out to keep up. As much as it pains me to say it, I see the Giants winning 2 more games this season, maybe 3 if the Vikings have nothing to play for and decide to rest players for the playoff run. At 9-7 they might have accumulated the wild card evaluation criteria credits to beat out the other 9-7 teams, but what would it matter? This isn't the 2007 Giants defense. Not by a long shot. And that is not going to change this season.
