Westbrook Out: It’s Official

PFT broke this news moments ago, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited about it. Brian Westbrook will not play Sunday against the Gaints.

Here is the bad news though:

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who missed last week’s game with a concussion, is listed as probable and has practiced all week, while wide receiver Jeremy Maclin returned to practice after missing time with a foot injury and wide receiver Kevin Curtis might play for the first time since Week Two.

More good news though from True Blue:

The Giants had all 53 players on the practice field Friday, including S Michael Johnson (groin), RB Ahmad Bradshaw (ankles) and G Chris Snee (knee), It’s not known if those three will participate fully, but they are out there with all their pads on.

Everyone in the NFL deals with injuries, and having certain players out definitely makes a difference, particularly in terms of AP and Westy — there’s no question about that. But perhaps the Giants are a bit more confident because of the way the Eagles are banged up heading into Sunday night. Take your advantages when you can, that’s part of being professional. No excuses, no asterisks.

Do you all agree this is good news given Westbrooks portfolio against the Giants?

Definitely good news – he’s killed the Giants. I’d feel better if Jackson was out too, but one out of two isn’t bad.

It is good news for the Giants pass rush, but defending the run will not be any easier unless Andy Reid abandons is early.
The Good news is yes that is one less Giant killer on the field Sunday!

maybe the giants can exploit a banged up desean jackson… get physical with him and keep him under wraps. the guy is a phenom.
