Steve Smith wants to be paid like a number one receiver. According to The Daily News, Smith’s agent, Ralph Cindrich, has informed the Giants that Smith wants a contract extension. Smith is signed through 2010. Smith will make $550,000 next year.

Smith deserves a contract extension, no doubt. He’s replaced Plaxico Burress and is playing at a Pro-Bowl level. Pay the man, Jerry Reese. Pay him well.
