I got an email from a reader, Craig, who voiced his displeasure with the team. Here’s what he had to say:
I became a Giants fan when watching the 1958 championship game against the Baltimore Colts. Through all the ups and downs of good and bad teams; I have never felt as bad as I do now about the current team. Through the years, never has their been less effort from Giants’ players. Please let them know that we fans feel that they shouldn’t cash their paychecks. These players certainly don’t deserve to be paid.
Who else is with him?
I’ve been a fan as long as Craig has been one. There are easily tens of thousands of true die hards that currently still have a scowl on their faces and a stiletto in their chest where a heart that beat Giants Blue used to be.
Last Sunday’s game was supposed to be a tribute to great sports venue…..It was desecrated by those that were paid to honor it.
Devoted fan since the 1950s. This season of
play was the worst. Why is no one giving credit
to the head coach ? Is it not his team ? His fault ? Why was he unable to keep players
together ? No effort – no job !
Well said Kenny G, well said!!
My husband and I have been Giants fans for many years. He didn’t wear his Giants jacket on Monday. This is big. Said he was too embarrassed especially being surrounded by Charger fans. And it’s not that they lost. Everyone loses. It’s that they played like all they wanted was a paycheck. like they didn’t care. Someone must get to the bottom of this debacle of a season, and soon, or else, Mr. Mara, that great stadium of yours will be missing alot of fans.
Heads should roll…
