Giantsgab.com OffSeason. Bills Fire Staff

I wanted to post something that Fuchs posted  earlier, butI’ll do that in a second.

The Buffalo Bills have “let-go” their entire staff. (The way profootballtalk.com is reporting it is that they have been told to look elsewhere, but the next head coach will choose who stays and goes).

One of the main stays on the Buffalo Bills staff that I would like to see the Giants puruse is Special Team’s Coach Bobby April.

I don’t hink the Giants have had great special teams in a long time, and April is one of the best in the business.

I also hear constantly that the Giants may be very intersted in Former Head Coach Dick Jauron.

There have been some great opinions and suggestions so far on what giantsgab.com should focus on during the off-season. And because we write to have engaging giants talk we’re leaving it up to you guys!

From Fuchs earlier on Giantsgab.com

Sadly, the offseason is upon us. And while it can be exciting (free agency, draft, etc) there just aren’t any games. And that will suck. But, on the bright side, GiantsGab isn’t going anywhere. We’ll be here to update all of your offseason needs. Now, here’s where you come in. There will be days with little to no news. Maybe even a week. But, I don’t want to leave the blog empty. What sort of things would you like to see? Weekly links? More personal stuff about me and the staff? More things about the NFL in general? Whatever you want to see, let us know in the comments.

A lot of people have commented on things related to the draft and off-season and We’ll do that, I know personally I’ll have a lot of things coming like player profiles of players I want to be on the Giants, mock drafts, and assessing needs.

But if you can think of other things let us know!

Have a nice day, everyone.

Thanks for the invitation to expand the subject matter during the blog slow season.
There is something that would serve to upgrade the quality of the blog’s subject matter and educate the readership in the “behind the scenes”of NFL football.
I’d like to hear from knowledgeable sources (ex-players) exactly how teams go about preparing for their next opponent. Is there a standard format followed by all teams or does each coordinator follow his own program? How do they go about creating a game plan ? How do they identifythe weak links in an opponent’s game and go about setting matchups. How much week to week teaching goes on or is each player left to his own devices? How much input does the coach have in a coordinator’s plan? Who determines the routes run by wide receivers? When Pierce calls the defensive signals, how much of that is his own choices and how much has been predetermined by the coaching staff
? Is every player privy to the entire game plan or just his aspect of it? When a player is “out of position ” to make a play, how much is it his fault and how much is it the coordinator’s?
Having someone like Simms, Carson , Banks or Strahan as a guest blogger to discuss these issues would raise the level of any blog above the level of ordinary amateurish complaints. How about it?

    • Just a simple wish….

Watching TV programs like Inside the NFL, listening to programs like Mike Francesa’s where he has the Giants coaches on all the time, watching the NFL Network and ESPN break down coverages and plays, watching old practice footage that is shown, listening to GOOD analysts make commentary, reading the pregame and post game transcripts we post, taking our analysis seriously — these are things that will help anyone get a better feel for behind the scenes goings-on in terms of Giants football.

I would love to have a budget to bring in Phil Simms or Lawrence Taylor and talk scheme, coaching styles, and execution tips and tricks… it’s not a possibility. I wish it were.

But we here at Giantsgab do our best to bring our wealth of resources to the table and give our readership a more interesting package and discussion of ideas.

Thats why we are the most visited site on the Sports Gab Network… after all.

I like the idea of league news….. what are other teams doing, who’s fired, who is signed, rule changes, etc…..
