Hallelujah, Giants fire Sheridan

The Giants have announced that defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan has been fired.

Sheridan, who many feel is to blame for the Giants’ poor defensive performance this season, took over the defense when Steve Spagnuolo left last year to become the head coach of the St. Louis Rams.

The Giants surrendered 427 points this season, a franchise-high for a 16-game schedule. They also allowed opponents 40 or more points in a game five times, another infamous franchise record.

This is a great start and sheridan has taken the fall for this years defense…… but let us not forget that those eleven guys on the field had a lot to do with this also… so great start but far from a fix… like steve smith said about needing an attitude adjustment and we need a d cord who can light a fire under these guys

I don’t think he’s as bad of a coach as most. But the team clearly didn’t respond to him for whatever reason so he had to go.

    Lighting fires….

Sam Kinison would have been a better Def. Coordinator, god rest his soul.

It still took too long. The was a mistake from the start. I’m not saying the DB’s were great this year (they were injured) but our DB’s coach won a super bowl as a coordinator with the Rams, how do you choose Sheridan over him.
