Watch Central Michigan University Tonight At GMAC Bowl:

Sorry for the off topic post but you will have to deal with it.  It’s not very often I get to talk CMU Football.  I am a graduate of CMU and when I attended the football program was terrible, but through the years they brought Brian Kelly (now of Notre Dame) in from Grand Valley State and he built a powerhouse program in the MAC.  Butch Jones took over after Kelly and continued the winning tradition.  He has recently left to take over Kelly’s old position at Cincinnati.  Anyway, back to CMU, be sure to watch the game tonight at 7pm eastern on ESPN.

Central has a few NFL prospects including wide receivers Brian Anderson (recently broke NCAA record for consecutive games with a catch) and Antonio Brown (the MAC’s version of Percy Harvin) along with Defensive End Frank Zombo.  But the main reason everyone should watch is CMU’s Senior Quarterback Dan LeFevour.  He has been a four year starter and just plain fun to watch.

A quick, side-by-side comparison of two unnamed quarterbacks.  Who is Tim Tebow and who is Dan LeFevour?

QB #1: 9,285 passing yards, 66.4 completion percentage, 88 passing TD, 16 INT, 692 rushes, 2,847 yards, 4.4 ypc, 57 rush TD, 12,132 total yards, 145 total TD

QB #2: 12, 510 passing yards, 66.6 completion percentage, 101 passing TD, 35 INT, 662 rushes, 2,936 yards, 4.4 ypc, 46 rush TD, 15,446 total yards, 147 total TD

If you said QB #1 is Tim Tebow, you’d be right. QB #2 is CMU’s quarterback Dan LeFevour, who doubles as the greatest dual-threat quarterback in college football  history. He owns the career total touchdowns record, and has more total yards and total TD’s than Tebow. Eat your hearts out, Florida fans.

Expect LeFevour and the Chippewas to play with passion and go out on a high note even though they’ve lost their coach.

It’s the end of an era in college football. The casual fans, and Florida fans, will remember it as the Tebow Era and think of all the great things he accomplished. But the real fans of college football will always think of this time as the Dan LeFevour Era even though he was just a MAC quarterback in most people’s eyes.

Thanks for letting me vent a little, GO FIRE UP CHIPS!
