Josh Cribbs May Be Up For Grabs

According to NFP, Josh Cribbs and his agent are insulted by Mike Holmgrens offer of $1.4 Million per year to retain Cribbs’ services as WR and Kick returner.

Cribbs’ agent Peter Schaffer said:

“They need to treat him fairly or he’ll never play for the Browns again. He will demand a trade and he will walk out of there and they won’t see him for the offseason, they won’t see him ever again.”

If Hixon doesn’t “return” for the Giants next year, the Giants could certainly use a dual threat like Cribbs next season.  He’ll perhaps provide that consistent special teams spark the Giants needed but scarcely got last season from Hixon. Cribbs is a bit bulkier than Hixon, and Cribbs may not get quite as man-handled down around the goal line like Hixon did the last couple of seasons.

Don’t get me wrong – I like Hixon, but if he goes elsewhere my worry is they will start using Bradshaw again as a return man and I want him fresh next year for a larger role in the rotation.  They need a return specialist like Cribbs I think if Hixon goes elsewhere.

Just sayin.

i would love cribbs on the giants but the problem with him is going to be money… he is a playmaker but he would basically be a third receiver on this team….and could you justify paying your third receiver and kick returner the money he is asking for…. great idea in thought i just don’t see it working out financially.. i think he wil be asking around 3 million a year

yea he’s going to be pricey… but you cant argue with production.
