NFP reports that the Raiders head coach Tom Cable will be getting the axe today, so to speak… and that Al Davis will be sitting him down to discuss all the reasons for it.
I’m not surprised in the least with this news — it’s expected. But what might come as a news to us Giants fans (hence the post on Giants Gab) is whether or not OC Kevin Gilbride is at the forefront of Al Davis’ mind to replace Cable.
We’ll have to wait (anxiously) and see since this process of firing Cable took much longer than most of us expected.
But what are your feelings about Gilbride after a very productive offensive season for the Giants? Is Gilbride finally finding his rhythm or is his time to depart even longer overdue?
What say you, Giant fans?

Get ride of Gilbride, he sucks at calling good play action plays…his time has come to go elsewhere
It is time to clean house. I just can not forget last year’s playoff game against the Bagels. That was the end for him as far as I am concerned.
Why in the world would any halfway decent coaching prospect take the job for the Raiders? Are they all completely incapable of learning from history?
I would keep Killdrive if he learns and understands that our offense is now a very effective passing unit, not so much a power running team. All I ask is that we mix it up….
they accomplished a 60/40 mix of pass to run more often than not this year….
if only the defense had played.
