“I don’t know how you do that.” “Our field is the field, and competition is good. It’s like we tell everybody: Go Earn it”

That’s a quote from Tom Coughlin, speaking at the Combine, about Osi Umenyiora. Go earn it. Osi has to.

I’m sure Osi realizes that he has to earn a starting spot. But, it really won’t surprise me if Osi demands a trade. He doesn’t seem happy, and he wants a fresh start. The Giants would be foolish not to explore a trade. Osi could get a late first early second round pick.

Sorry for my lack of posting, as I’ve been without power the past couple of days. Big props to the rest of the crew for filling in.

I think the Giants would be foolish to trade him. we all know last year he was coming off of an ACL injury, which takes atleast a year, more likely two to get back to full strength, and even with that, Osi was the Giants best, pure, pass rusher.

Now on run defense he was plain horrible, more so than in the past, for whatever reason he was just bad.

The bottom line was Osi was benched for his bad run D, but came in on pass rush situations.

If osi wants to be a starter, he has to prove that he is better against the run, which he is capable of doing.

The only way I see the Giants trading Osi is if they get a great deal for a player coming off of an ACL, like a 1 and a 3.

I dont think its going to happen.

New year, new DC. starting day osi will be starting DE.

    This is just offseason chatter.

you dont just ditch pro bowl DE’s like osi. jeremy shocky is another story… but i think osi has much more gas in the tank.

i hope he stays around next year

  3. Adam Y says:

I think they’ll test the waters in trading osi, they still have tuck and kiwanuka is pretty good too. i think if they could get a first round pick for osi they’ll do it.

  4. Jeremy says:

Osi is just trying to motivate himself. He’ll bring it this season, he’ll be more vocal as a leader too. He lost strAhan who use to always boost his huge ego. When he got hurt he lost confidence but after that horrific season he’ll be back with much to prove to himself and his teamates. Or at least I’m hoping that will happen.

  5. Adam Y says:

but if he doesnt step up this year and had the season like before he got hurt this might be his last year in blue. I do hope he steps up tho, we need leaders on defense. and i think the new D-coordinator will be exactly what osi needs.

  6. giantsforever says:

There is no excuses for this giants team this year!!!!!!!!They got rid of the D-coordinator,and for the first time I was ashamed to be a giant fan. Talk is cheap!!!!!!!!! Osi win your spot back and STFU!!!!
