Yup. C.J. Spiller is Fast.

Well, everyone wanted to know just how fast C.J. Spiller and Javhid Best are the answer is in: Very.

C.J. Spiller ran a 4.37. Jahvid Best ran a 4.35. That’s 40 yards, that’s how long it takes me to get from the couch to the fridge in my house and that’s only one room over.

These guys can fly. I think Spiller is the better overall player, but Spiller WILL without a doubt be drafted at some point in the first round, probably in the first twenty picks. I saw in a SportingNews issue that one N.F.L. team had him ranked #1 on their Big Board (ahead of Suh, McCoy, Clausen, Berry you name it).

Dexter McCluster…suprisingly ran a 4.58. (maybe his draft stock will fall enough for the Giants to get him in the 4th round or something). However, McCluster racked the bar after 20 reps at 225. This from a guy who weights 172 pounds and stands at 5’9”. McCluster. His hands are only 8 3/8 inchest. A very weird specimen.  I’m suprised how many reps he put up he was in the “RB” Group if he was in the WR groups 20 would have been tied with the most reps.

A player I like a lot and hope winds up with the Bills, Golden Tate, had questions (by idiots) about his speed, but he ran a 4.42 and he probably plays faster than he just runs. I think he might slip into the late first round now.

Taylor Price out of Ohio (rising up fast on boards after a great Senior Bowl week) ran a 4.41 40 and put up 225 16 times. He’s also 6′ tall. Very high upside.

Say What??!?!?!? Toby Gehart and Tim Tebow disprove the “White men can’t Jump” theory. Gherart had a 38 inch vertical at 6′ and over 230 pounds, which is impressive.

Tim Tebow had a 38.5 inch vertical Tops among Quarterbacks (profootballtalk reports that Michael Vick only had a 38 inch vertical). For the 3 cone Drill Tim Tebow had the best QB time and would have had the best RB time, and the third best time overall so far at the combine.

Good for him. As a person who does not care for the Florida Gators I got sick of hearing of Tim Tebow’s greatness, but you know what I’m starting to root for him, I can’t hold it against Tim Tebow.  Hopefully his hard work pays off and he’s a solid N.F.L. QB or just a good player somewhere.

Tommorrow and Tuesday are the days Giants fans are waiting for (Although personally, as I’ve stated more than once I was interested in the Offensive linemen and C.J. Spiller-(either of which I think the Giants should heavily consider going with their first pick ).

But Tommorrow is LB and DL

Tuesday is Defensive Backs. For Defensive Backs I’m excited to see what Taylor Mays runs. As well as  Earl Thomas, I think Earl Thomas (assuming he runs) is going to run faster than people think he is going to run, although if he runs too fast he might run himself right into the top 14 picks, which is not what I’m hoping for.

  1. Steve B. says:

Still think that there is less than a 1% chance giants draft spiller.

Jerry Reese views RBs as a dime a dozen, not that much difference between a 1st rounder and a 4th rounder.

If any offense player would be selected by the Giants in the 1st round, id rather it be a elite OT, than a RB

  2. I don’t disagree.

I think I’d rather see Bryan Bulaga, Anthony Davis or Bruce Campbell drafted than C.J. Spiller, but if Spiller was I wouldn’t be dissapointed

he fits EXACTLY what the Giants are missing. Bradshaw’s pretty good, but I don’t know if he’s the natural open field runner Spiller is, Spiller is great coming out of the backfield, and he also wold give the Giants a return man so they wouldn’t have to dress Domenik Hixon if they didn’t want to.

I think he’ll probably go Brian Price, Rolando McClain, Earl Thomas, Brandon Spikes or Taylor Mays (hope not) or OT. I think that’s where the pick will be somewhere in that range.
