Gabbin’ With DJ Ware!

Today, we have a special treat, as Giants running back DJ Ware was kind enough to answer a few questions for the readers of GiantsGab! DJ is also a big presence on the web. His Facebook fan page is here, and his Twitter page is here.

1. Giants started 5-0 last season, and ended up 8-8. What changes do you think have to be made going into next season?
I don’t know if changes have to be made. Guys need to stay healthy. We had a lot of injuries in the beginning of the season. I trust that the guys upstairs will make the changes they feel necessary to get up back to being Super Bowl Champs..

2. Describe your game
I use Speed, power, run good routes and I pick up protections pretty well. Other than that, I strive to be the best at whatever’s thrown at me and work on improving every day.

3. What are your goals for this year, both personally and for the team?
Personally-Be somebody that people are worried about. Be a factor. I want someone to have to worry about 28. For the team, that’s simple.. There is only 1 goal… To win the Super Bowl in Cowboys stadium.. Now THAT would be sweet!

4. What do you think is your ideal role in this offense?
Of course I’d love to get 20 carries a game like every running back would, but I will do whatever they need me to do. Whether its pass protection or running routes, I’ll do anything and strive to be great at it.

5. What do you think the Giants should focus on in free agency and the draft?
Whatever the Giants feel that we need, that’s what they’ll get.

6. Describe your frustrations on your injury situation last season
I wasn’t frustrated beause everything happens for a reason. I used it to become more hungry. I haven’t stopped grinding since the season ended and I think the growth from the injury will show when I’m back on the field next season.

7. Why the change to DJ?
I had changed it to Danny when I went to GA cause of DJ Shockley. I’d rather be called DJ. That’s what my Dad called me cause I’m a junior. He’s Danny and I’d rather be called DJ, but whatever people want to call me I’m cool with!

Thanks again to DJ for the interview! Remember to check out his Facebook and Twitter pages!

I really don’t get the lack of playing time by Danny Ware. He is a threat every time he touches the ball. He protected Eli during games and in fact picked up a blitz beautifully when he had to cross in front of Eli and slammed the blitzer. If he’s in TC’s doghouse I don’t get it. He’s done everything that’s been asked of him. This is the part of TC I don’t get or like when he puts a really good ballplayer in the doghouse…coach him and play him!!!

he’s 3rd on the depth chart. bradshaw has more seniority and in my opinion — more explosiveness and toughness. people act like seniority doesnt mean anything — but it certainly does to Coughlin.
