Thoughts On McClain

As y’all know by now, Alabama linebacker–and potential Giants draft pick–Rolando McClain has Crohn’s disease. I’m not an expert on Crohn’s disease. But, I know some people who have it, and through diet changes, exercise, and medication, it can be managed, and you can live a normal life.

I don’t think we should be scared of McClain because he has Crohn’s. It doesn’t affect his play on the field. And I wouldn’t even worry about his 40 time. Call me old school, but I like to judge a player by watching him, not his combine numbers. And, from what I saw of McClain, I saw a playmaker. Leader. Instinctive. I disagree with Bartolis on McClain looking slow in games. He’s not the fastest guy, but he gets it done.

I’m not advocating for drafting McClain, I just think we shouldn’t dismiss him because of his disease. I’m actually leaning towards CJ Spiller (my first Giants mock will be out in the very near future). As you know, I want the Giants to sign Kirk Morrison.

We’ll see how the rest of the process plays out. I think, if McClain is on the board at 15, you take him, and you’re going to get a very good player. Don’t let the Crohn’s, or the speed fool you.

man we should get a good LB in Free Agency and get the best aval player in the draft and I really hope its CJ Spiller. I don’t know how much longer Jacobs is gonna last?
